Exactly how the live queue and Capture One's naming tool work together, including the Lightroom / Smart Shooter path if that's your setup.
Double-click a name in Headshot Queue's live queue, and a unique file-naming prefix for that person copies to your clipboard automatically. Paste it into Capture One's Next Capture Naming field once — every frame you shoot from that moment carries that person's name, with nothing to rename after the fact, and Headshot Queue uploads it straight to their private gallery. Repeat for the next person.

Open Headshot Queue's live queue alongside Capture One
Headshot Queue's queue runs in a browser tab on a laptop, tablet, or second monitor positioned where you can see it without leaving your camera position. Capture One stays in its own window, tethered and ready to capture as normal.
Double-click the next person waiting in Headshot Queue
This does two things at once: Headshot Queue marks that person as active (so everyone can see who's currently being shot), and it copies their unique file-naming prefix to your clipboard automatically — nothing to manually type or generate.
Paste Headshot Queue's prefix into Capture One's Next Capture Naming field
One paste, before the first frame of that person's session. This is the only manual step in the entire per-person workflow — everything before and after it is handled by Headshot Queue automatically.
Shoot — every frame is named automatically
Capture One applies the pasted naming value to each frame as it's captured, for as long as that value remains in the field. Multiple frames, a pose change, a quick outfit adjustment — all of it stays correctly named without touching the naming field again, and Headshot Queue's Photo Uploader picks every frame up as it lands.
Mark them done in Headshot Queue and repeat
Mark the current person done, double-click the next name in Headshot Queue, paste the new prefix, and continue. Photos upload to each person's own private Headshot Queue gallery automatically as they're captured, already correctly matched — nothing left to sort once the event is over.
The Smart Shooter path
Capture One is the simpler, more direct route if you have a choice. If your setup is built around Lightroom, the same underlying workflow still works — Smart Shooter (by Tether Tools) sits in the middle.

The same double-click-and-paste step happens with Smart Shooter instead of Capture One directly. Smart Shooter handles the tethered capture and clipboard-based renaming, then feeds the correctly-named files into Lightroom automatically for editing. Once you export from Lightroom to a watched folder, Headshot Queue's Photo Uploader picks the files up the same way it would from Capture One.
Common questions mid-session
Photos are landing under the wrong person's name
Almost always means the naming field still had the previous person's prefix when shooting started. This is where Headshot Queue's advantage really shows: on a fully manual workflow, this kind of mix-up can mean hours of sorting through hundreds of unlabeled frames after the fact. With Headshot Queue, it's a fix that takes seconds — open the client detail page, reassign the specific photos to the correct person, done. No re-shooting, no touching the files themselves.
The clipboard copy doesn't seem to be working
Some browsers restrict clipboard access until a page has been directly interacted with at least once — clicking anywhere on Headshot Queue's queue page first typically resolves it immediately.
I need to reshoot someone who already left the queue
One click in Headshot Queue: they can be re-activated in the queue at any point, which copies their same prefix again — new frames land in the same gallery as their earlier ones, no manual folder-hunting required.
